Homemade Ice Cream

A collection of three homemade ice cream recipes: simple vanilla, fresh strawberry or raspberry, and pistachio.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh hulled fruit
  • 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • [unclear] unit green food coloring
  • [unclear] unit pistachios chopped

Directions

    Combine and chill for at least 2 hours before putting in ice cream machine

    Lighter version: 2 cups milk and 2 cups cream

    Add Oreos, Nuts or Candy Bar of your choice after ice cream is frozen

    Puree fruit in food processor

    Whisk or use mixer on low, milk, sugar and salt

    Add cream and vanilla and fruit. Chill at least 2 hours

    Combine and chill for at least 2 hours before putting in ice cream machine

    Lighter version: 2 cups milk and 2 cups cream
